"Call to Hero". (Kall på heltene.)

The first book. It is rather thick and ponderous for the debutante (151 pages!). And naturally is devoted to his mother.
Long time later H.Rem will say: "Still I havent been believing, that this book had ever been edited!"
Nevertheless, exactly in this book were published such poems as: "Jeg kjenner ingen fremtid" and "Hvem er herre i drømmen".

"Behind half-opened door". (Bak dør på gløtt.)

A great many of readers had recognized this book to be one of the best among the other ones. Perfect verses. Or the perfect moment of lifetime? With such epigraphs:

"But where do you hide
when it comes from inside?"
J.Taylor

"What drives me to you,
is what drives me insane."
B.Dylan

Here were published for the first time: "Vuggevise" è "Engelen".

"Golgotha's Land". (Galgeland.)

The book is pretty gloomy. The name speakes for itself.

I had been doubted for a long time where to put this book either in Poetry or Religion? For all that this is verse. That's why the book is here. This is really another view on religion. Pain and emptiness are here. A glare from the world, where everything is ruining and falling thanks to our own unbelief in future. Return to faith is possible only through realizing of our roots, from which we had renounced. We build Golgotha's world by ourselves. The planks are planed by our hands, feet move towards the hill, but mind... Mind is silent. The picture is terrible.
And for vivid reproduction of it just remind R.E.M. video "Losing my religion".

"Twin-brothers". (Tvillingbrødrene.)

Actually, this spiritual story-tale "The twins-brothers" was invented and narrated by Ole Sverre Olsen. In this case H.Rem had recorded and worded this creation. Colorful getting up ofthe book is made by Harald Nordberg.
Ole S.Olsen is famous as talented original distinctive poet. His verses are in Morten Harket's and A-ha's songs: at "Wild Seed" - "Half in love, Half in hate"; at "Vogts Villa" - "Tilbake til livet", "Herre i drømmen" (with H.Rem), "Himmelske danser" and "Lyser når du drar".
At "Minor Earth/Major Sky" (A-ha) - "Thought that it was you".

The first book of Ole S.Olsen's poems was published just exactly after release of Morten Harket's album "Wild Seed" in 1995.

"Taxometr is on". (Taksameteret går.)

Collection of the best poems in the period from 1977 to 1996. In addition new, which had never been edited before poems. Many of them were taken as a principle of the songs in Morten Harket's album Vogts Villa.

"Bob Dylan ". (Bob Dylan.)

Two years earlier (in 1997), Rem's album with translation of B.Dylan's songs in rendition by Åge Aleksandersen with the band, had been edited.

The voyage through the lines of songs. Research and wish to see more, then simple words. Voyage between lines... One can't manage with it in one day, he must live with it. This is the thing you live with. For a week, month, year... Years. Than you understand, that you had grew together and nothing in this world is able to hunt these lines and knowledge between the lines out from you. Discoveries, which can be made suddenly and only in solitude. And when all theriddles of interlines solved, you break through a narrow split and a huge world is opening to you. This can be any world, not for sure it is colorful and warm. But you can't be without it. You live in it. And with it... And someone upwards, on the heaven is laughing wildly: "You know sometimes Satan comes as a man of peace".

It has been proved by practice, that every country should have hoarse-voice, at last spent in drink and decadents bard. In Russia, naturally, it is Vladimir Vysotskiy, in France - Serge Gainsbourg, in Canada - Leonard Cohen, and in the USA it is Bob Dylan. This book is not much another description of B.Dylan's biography, but anattempt to analyze the nature of his conflict with audience, society, religions, when: "Judas!" was thrown to him. And also to recreate the very atmosphere of the time from 60-70-ies till 90-ies.
Yes, for the years of his creative carrier, Dylan had been everything: from rock-idol, who was stuck in drugs, and country-singer for 15-year-old boys to orthodox Jewish and convinced Christian.

"All young men use image and behavior of Dylan", - said Andy Warhol
. The Beatles had been noticed, that "Dylan brought marihuana into fashion". Leonard Cohen stated joking: "Dylan is a personality, which appears every third and fourth century. Notearlier". And B.Springsteen said on the whole: "Elvis made bodies free, and Dylan - mind".

To my mind, this is very interesting documentary book. With song verses in English and their translations into Norwegian. There are neither pictures nor photos, but all 191 pages of the book are read at one breath. Easy and understandable. Still, without comments, sometimes fanatism, being the main leading force in rushing, brings precious results. How this story and this research of interlines is familiar to me...

I see the morning light
I see the morning light
Well, it's not because I'm an early riser
I didn't go to sleep last night...

"The Echo". (Dvergmål.)

Dvergmål - by Old Norwegian ekko - the echo.
There is Reinhardt Søbye's painting "The Dead Child" on the cover. Why it is "The Dead Child"? The reply for this question is in the interview.

"... If we don't become like children, we can't enter the Kingdom of Heaven." The Bible.

The book "Dvergmål" comprises 35 sonnets about a gnome and his love to a witch. The poems are full of melancholy or humour at times. The lyric is closely interwoven with the sarcasm and the tale - with reality.
I think it is a beautiful book!

"Notes". (Tekstmeldinger.)

"These verses are less autobiographical and possibly more archetypical."

This book is the latest at the present time. Very short two- and threelined in the type of "haiku".

"If moon had a sister". (Hadde månen en søster.)

The stylish and wonderful book, published with album "Cohen på norsk" at the same time. There is abeautiful miniature picture on the cover: we can see a girl who is sitting on the growing moon like in a cradle and reading. The book was printed a little earlier in a limited and numerated edition (3 000 copies).
The contents is L.Cohen's biography in brief, words of all songs from the given album (translation by H.Rem), interview with Cohen (the interview by H.Rem together with Håkon Harket in Grand Hotel in Oslo in 1992), full discography, bibliography and list of translations into Norwegian, Dannish and Swedish languages.
Explanations Tyrili Foundation and 15 black-and-white pictures of L.Cohen and the cast of CD-album, are also mentioned. The book has a little pocket for the special CD-edition with the same shape.

"100 Poems about a War". (100 dikt om krig.)

The collection of poems about a war of the different poets by red. H.Rem.
This book is collected in a counterbalance of the English book
"101 Poems Against War", published in 2003.
But the difference is in a moment - the poems are ABOUT a war, not AGAINST war. The book tells about the different wars in the world. Who knows, if we know about wars more, maybe we don't carry on war...

In the annotation of book you can see a record of the Russian edition "Golgotha's Land" ("Galgeland", 2003).

"The five-legs camel". (Den femfotete kamel.)

The title of this book plays on words - "five-legs" and "pentameter" (iambic pentameter). The last one took from the poetry and do very well for this collected articles about the poetry. In our case, the "camel" under review are the problems of interpretation and writing of poetic verses.
There you can find the curious essays with the detailed analysis of poems of the modern Norwegian poets as well as the lyrics of Robert Shelton, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Also there are the first mentioning about the anthology "Jesus's Life in a Norwegian poetry" and the notes about the history of writing of the Norwegian psalms and the art of composing of aphorisms. With the object of gain an understanding - what is a good poetry?
